Mysterious Wonders秘境秘境

"Mysterious Wonders" is a visual fantasy journey spanning the Eurasian and African continents. This duo exhibition brings together two artists with explosive power in surreal imagination and pictorial narrative. Originating from their respective cultural motifs, they weave bizarre yet incisive mysterious scenes that directly confront the existential dilemmas of contemporary humanity.

Yang Shen's works possess a strong cinematic texture. He fictionalizes a Western explorer's journey through Asian jungles, absurdly juxtaposing sci-fi scenes, colonial history, and era-specific figures, good-naturedly satirizing and reminding humanity of its desires and ethical dilemmas in the face of nature. Souleymane from Côte d'Ivoire, inspired by Bamana mythology, uses highly saturated colors and free-flowing brushstrokes to create vibrant half-human, half-flora/fauna characters. Their works collide in the gallery space, jointly peeling back the skin of reality and inviting viewers to step into a dazzling "mysterious realm" that transcends appearances and reaches inner values.

“秘境”是一场跨越欧亚与非洲大陆的视觉奇幻之旅。本次双人展汇聚了两位在超现实想象与图景叙事上极具爆发力的艺术家，他们分别从各自的文化母题出发，编织出光怪陆离却又直击当代人生存困境的神秘图景。

杨深的作品带有强烈的电影质感，他虚构了一位西方探险家在亚洲丛林的旅行，将科幻场景、殖民历史与时代人物荒诞并置，善意地讽刺并提醒着人类在自然面前的欲望与伦理困境；而来自科特迪瓦的苏莱曼，受班巴拉神话启发，以高饱和的色彩与自由流动的笔触，创造出半人半动植物的生机角色。他们的作品在展厅中碰撞，共同剥开了现实的表皮，邀请观者步入一个超越外表、直抵内在价值的绚丽“秘境”。
